Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) is an excellent massage oil for the skin and is non-sticky and not greasy. VCO is rich in Lauric Acid (found in mother’s milk), Vitamin E and saturated fats, all of which are great for the skin in different ways.

• Protective Environment for Skin – Antiseptic fatty acids including lauric acid present in large quantities in VCO help to prevent fungal and bacterial infections when applied directly on the skin. This microbial action can even be observed when the oil is consumed internally, as these fatty acids boost the immunity. VCO when applied on the skin forms a protective layer and prevents the microbes from entering the skin through pores or open wounds.

 

• Skin Softner & Mositurizer – VCO is effective in getting rid of dry/hard skin problems. Using VCO to moisturize the skin will keep it looking supple and soft, without having to keep reapplying. Most commercial creams and lotions are predominantly water. Their moisture is quickly absorbed into the dry, wrinkled skin. As the water enters the skin, it expands the tissues, so that wrinkles fade away and skin feels smoother. But this is only temporary. As soon as the water evaporates or is carried away by the bloodstream, the dry, wrinkled skin returns. On the other hand VCO is absorbed slowly into the skin, and penetrates into the deep layers of the skin and strengthens the underlying tissue.

 

• Anti-aging & nourishment – Vitamin E present in VCO prevents premature aging and wrinkling of the skin, since it has good antioxidant properties. The antioxidant properties of Vitamin E help fight the free radical cell damage and help to keep the connective tissues in our skin strong and supple so that skin doesn’t sag and wrinkle.
